Breakfast
Las Vegas tourists have made a tradition of eating a 3:00 a.m. breakfast at the 3763 Las Vegas Blvd. Fatburger, which is open 24 hours every day. Including Christmas, when I saw Elvis there (see the fourth photo posted below.) The location in between the MGM Grand and Planet Hollywood, across the street from New York New York and Monte Carlo, is convenient to those staying in the south strip area. After a long night of walking the strip and gambling, a stop at Fatburger for breakfast is very satisfying. Forget that foo-foo fruits and whole grains nonsense. Most gamblers lose track of time since casinos have no windows or clocks. It's easy to forget about eating dinner and suddenly find yourself stumbling away from the blackjack table drunk at 3:00 a.m. Four out of five physicians agree that in this scenario, a good quarter pound or more of ground beef and hefty portion of french fries are crucial to your good health. Adding a peanut butter shake helps even more. Those of you who strictly do not eat beef have the option of a chicken sandwich, fish sandwich, turkey burger, fat salad wedge, or traditional breakfast bacon and egg sandwich. The Fatburger menu also offers CHILI DOGS for the truly adventurous breakfast daredevil. You can expect to spend about $10 per person; not because Fatburger is high priced but because everything on the Las Vegas Strip is overpriced. Kind of like being in an airport... they know you're not going anywhere, so prices are higher than usual. Place your order at the cash register and the cashier will call it out to the cooks... "FATBURGER, FATBURGER, FAT FRIES, SKINNY FRIES". You can sit at a table; or sit at the row of seats in front of the grill to watch the cooks in action if you want to be entertained while waiting. Fatburger serves delicious, high quality food (forget McDonald's and Burger King) at all hours, but it tastes especially good for breakfast. You're in Las Vegas, be adventurous. And you might meet Elvis.
